It's been awhile since we've posted, huh? Since we began blogging together, the four of us have experienced a total of 6 pregnancies, 3 miscarriages and one high-risk bedrest. We've weathered three hurricanes, one evacuation and one flood. All totaled (counting babes in utero) we have 26 children. All that to say, there are new posts in the queue, but we've been a bit preoccupied.
This is a great opportunity to assure you we haven't given up on any of the plans here. Indeed, we're using them every day with our own children, which is a good thing for our families and remains our primary intention. A few of you have written to ask when there will be something new.
Look for a booklist for the next installment of the history trail by next week, followed quickly by more detailed lesson plans. We've been updating booklists on the Alphabet Path as we go through it again. The last three posts should appear in the next couple of weeks. Art, music and poetry will also be updated shortly.
The gnomes are getting reorganized. We've broken down the longer posts in to smaller chunks and will republish just as soon as we add some more living books to each topic. Then, we'll develop new lessons. This is a slow process and our dear little gnome friends do miss Katherine terribly.
if wwe're not moving quickly enough, I encourage you to use the patterns of our lessons to create new ones of your own. The original Real Learning booklist is a good jumping off point for creating reading lists, as are Maureen Wittmann's book and Cay Gibson's guide to picture books.
Finally, to give you some more support, Cindy has created a message board dedicated to illuminating and expanding the lessons and posting new ideas you have. I invite you to stop by and introduce yourself and tell us what you've been up to as you use Serendipity.
